The Lookout's flecked vinyl by Note Design Studio for Tarkett

Designed for the Stockholm Furniture Fair, The Lookout attracts visitors with its terrazzo-like charm and clever use of materials. From afar, it’s captivating; up close, it immerses visitors in the potential of overlooked materials.

In collaboration with Tarkett, Note Design Studio selected flecked homogeneous vinyl, Tarkett’s most popular flooring finish. This versatile material covers the installation's walls, display counters, and a striking rust-red staircase, inviting visitors to touch and explore.

Climb the second set of black stairs to reach a viewpoint with a unique look at the busy fair below. In a mix of moss-green, pale grey, and terracotta brown, pops of coral pink add vibrancy to the space.

However, it's not just about colors and patterns. The vinyl walls feature checkerboard motifs, circular cutouts, and clever folds, showcasing the limitless possibilities of material manipulation.

The Lookout works on two levels: catching your eye from a distance and engaging you up close. It's a great example of how collaboration and creativity can transform design using materials like flecked homogeneous vinyl.
